The Hollando Diet

New Year, Same Goals

January 20th, 2005

Well, I hope Holland is a better financial advisor than he is a psychic. Christmas was bad, very bad, for dieting. When last I checked in, I weighed 160 pounds. But just like that 160 became 170. What happened?! With a little more attention to what I ate (that was the crux of the problem, I took my eye off the ball), though, I’ve been able to “cut the fat” back down to 163 this morning. This is satisfactory, for now.

All of 20 days into the new year, the state of my resolutions is not good. But at least the weight-control process seems to be getting back on track. The 150s still mock me from just out of reach.

Familiar Territory

January 9th, 2005

Here we go again… this morning I ate somewhat-unfrozen shrimp for breakfast. For dinner, I’m thinking of consuming tuna, low-fat mayo, and pickles. For lunch… I’m planning to be very, very undisciplined. Cake is not out of the question.

So begins the newest Hollando Diet. The plan:
(1) Go to gym every morning at 5:30 am (any bets on my likelihood of success?)
(2) Eat light breakfast. Likeliest targets: the shrimp in my freezer.
(3) Eat anything I want for lunch. (Should be do-able, yes?)
(4) Eat a light dinner, i.e. tuna, shrimp, or other fish.

The goal: 30 pounds in 30 days.
The reality: I have never succeeded since my last weight drop in spring, 2001.

Gentlemen and ladies, place your bets. Today is January 9, 2005, and I weigh 181 pounds. By February 8, 2005, I should weigh 151 pounds.
