“It’s the unsinkable taste of Cheerios… not a lot of sugar to go way down low… Cheerios!” Such was the commercial jingle for my new favorite cereal. I am downing a cup full of bananas, skim milk, and Cheerios even now, and I’ve sweetened it all with Splenda.
This year I’m working on keeping a food journal. So far, I’ve managed to lose four of the seven pounds I gained over the Christmas/New Year’s week. Those pounds are the easy ones to lose. Now for the hard-to-lose pounds. I’m hovering at 163 lbs. as I return to the first day of work of the New Year. (I’ve been in the office three of the last four days “off”, but the office was closed, and today is the first true work day.)
Resolutions:
- I will exercise at least once each day.
- I will have no caffeine, no desserts, no fried foods, and no fast food. (Yeah, right.)
- I will control portions for meals.
- I will try to have multivitamins each day.
- I will have three square meals a day and two small (emphasize small) snacks.
- I will force myself to observe regular sleep hours.
We’ll see how these resolutions hold up over the next… well, the next week. We’ll take them one week at a time.
